Lauren Allbee, ACSW

Associate Clinical Social Worker
ACSW #98512

About Me:

Picture
Hello! My name is Lauren Allbee. For as long as I can remember, I have sought to better understand the world, always looking for better ways to gain knowledge and deepen my awareness of what it means to be human today. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from San Diego State University and from there chose to step towards the unknown by serving in the U.S. Peace Corps. Western Ukraine shaped me indelibly and taught me the importance of being of service, of understanding the value of connection and of the responsibility that comes with earning someone’s trust. Upon returning from Ukraine, I received my Master of Social Work from Arizona State University, where I gained comprehensive knowledge in the fields of school social work, direct practice with children, youth and families, and managed a research team that evaluated potential risk factors of domestic minor sex trafficking. I have since gained valuable clinical experience involving child welfare, foster youth, adoptive family systems, justice-involved youth, complex/multifaceted trauma, neurodivergent youth, clients with dual diagnoses, generational trauma, individualized education plans, and multidisciplinary teams.

Who I am As A Therapist:

First and foremost, I believe deeply in the power of connection and relationships. Humans are inherently communal and as part of this experience, there will be times when support is needed for each of us in different ways. If you are currently considering support, and perhaps are feeling scared, isolated, or uncomfortable with this consideration, this does not make you flawed - this makes you human. Change can feel overwhelming. By allowing yourself to engage in this work, you are permitting yourself to share the burden with another and that, to me, is the essence of bravery. Your bravery shows just by exploring here. I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together.

Why I Love What I Do:

I feel privileged to do the work I do, to be given the opportunity to walk alongside someone as they move through their unique experience, filled with moments of both pain and joy, towards a future filled with opportunity and real change. The vulnerability, the courage, and the humility that it takes to look inward and choose a new path forward is admirable beyond measure. I thrive most in the moments when I am able to fully support clients as they choose something new for themselves and the worlds around them.
